I recently stumbled onto your site while searching for some new places to go hunting. I was totally surprised by the number of Hannibal stories. The only one that I can actually verify is the route w cemetery. MY sister and I are both considered mediums or contacts for paranormal activity. All of our lives we have seen, heard, and felt the paranormal. Having lived in Hannibal our whole lives, we became the go-to people for ghost problems. Needless to say, we went on plenty of hunts with people. Route W Cemetery is deeply disturbing. By day, the place looks normal enough. Actually, a sub-division has gone up right across the street. After going on hunts to "W" several times, we racked up hundreds of pictures, videos, and EVP's. In every picture there are tons of orbs. Often, there will be orange or red eyes in the forest and claw marks that appear to be aiming for the cameras. In a video, a white hand-like apparition slashes at the camera every minute or so. We also have a very detailed picture of a hunched over man right in front of the huge walnut tree. That particular tree has been home to many accounts of activity too, with people seeing hanging bodies and heads from the branches. Also, the tombstone right below it morphs into odd shapes in some pictures. The woods constantly give off a feeling of being watched. A friend and I saw the figure of a man in the trees that beckoned to us to come closer. She saw a normal middle aged man while I saw a man with no eyes that gave me a horrible feeling. After telling her not to go into the weeds and after the figure vanished, I searched a little and found a large hole that was hidden by the sticks and tall grass. We both could have been hurt if we had gone any further. Supposedly there is also a small house/shack in the woods where the caretaker used to live. I doubt that seriously unless there are ancient unmarked graves there (most are new ~90's) Although he could have been involved with the gas station nearby. My advice? Anyone who goes to W should be ready for whatever happens. "Weaker" people who have trouble handling any sort of paranormal activity should just stay away. People have been possessed there before, which is not too fun to deal with. Also, there is a home right next to it that might call the cops if you get too loud or wild with the flashlights. Also, it seems that the "evil" spirit that haunts the woods likes to make people see things. As always when working with apparitions, take them with a grain of salt. The nicest looking old guy could be leading you to fall into a pit.
Thanks, and keep it up!

Hello,
I was born in Hannibal Mo. in 1980 and I lived there from 14 yrs. When I can across your website, I saw the article about the old abandoned skelly gas station. My father used to hunt those woods right next to that station and he told me stories about it being haunted and strange activity. I am wondering if you had any pictures of that gas station, because I have been searching all my photos from my archive and have come up with nothing.
Any help would be very Appreciative.
Thank You
Sincerely,
