I don't know where to start. I attended Fort Zumwalt North High School and was involved in drama and theater, though I was never truly inclined to the liking of these things; it was merely a better option to me than choir or other fine arts courses there.
I spent many hours in the schools theater setting up plays, often working with many others and more often at work by myself. I remember clearly on several occasions experiencing what could only be described as a haunting. On one occasion there was the sound of footsteps on the catwalk above, but it was clear that there was no one in the auditorium. I being the skeptic felt perhaps someone was playing a trick on me, so I made my way to the catwalk and behold, both emptiness and silence before me. I soon dismissed this and rationalized a simple scientific explanation to explain this away. This would be the first but not the last time I experienced odd occurrences here. Another time I worked with a friend, my mentor of the sorts on a set building here. Surely we were alone as we were the only two given permission that day to work on the set. I clearly remember being on the right side of the stage, measuring boards to be cut with my friend when again I heard the footsteps. This time however I was not alone and he too heard them. They did not come from the catwalk, they came from the small stairwell on the left side of the stage. We investigated it, no one there or anywhere in the immediate area. I told my friend of the time I heard something above me on the catwalks and he told me I had heard "it". He told me he had seen and heard many odd things here throughout the years and it was a ghost. On another occasion there were many people working in the theater on a set. I was drilling fluting holes for later drilling to attach pieces of a set together when a hammer used to attach small things to the set was flung a few feet from its resting place on the floor. Again I spoke to my friend. My friend I believe has a rare gift insomuch that he is exceedingly perceptive to this phenomena and claims to on occasion hear them. He told me that he often heard the laughter of a child there when he knew no one else was in the area. I write to you in hopes that someday this might be investigated, though I do not know how being as it is both a public and government owned property. But I do tell the truth here, as surely as I write you this E-mail. I am not a man that likes to waste time, and I would not waste my time if I did not believe there wassomething more to this theater.
