I’ve lived my entire life on Northern Part of Elm Street in St. Charles, Mo. Its changed over the years from rural to very commercial, with places like the New Town Development, and Fountain Lakes Ind. I’ve hunted the flat lands, and walked at midnight with friends who all believe in the, Indian of Elm Point. That’s what we call it anyway, and I’m not sure of many who actual know the tale. Legend has it that an Indian tribe lived, hunted, and buried their dead near where the Shell station now sits, on the corner of Elm and Elm Point. Elm Point was an old Indian Hunting trail, and I do not know if that is factual or not. It is said that you can still hear the sound of a horse or horses walking along Elm Point. As a youth, I worked on the farm that use to be near there, and spent a few nights camping in that area. I can honestly say I’ve heard the hoof beats, and saw mist floating just above the fields that looks amazingly like an Indian in full war bonnet. I still live in the area, and drive a big rig. So at times I park my rig near the Shell station where the Holiday Express now stands. On occasions, I’ve slept in my sleeper at that location and heard what sounded like hoof beats, but with all the traffic it is hard to tell.
