Heeeello! I'm a current junior attending the Kansas City Art Institute. I noticed that you had mentioned the Donaldson House on your site and I decided I might as well ramble on to you what the professors all ramble on to us.
The Dodson House is now known as the "Batey House." I'm not entirely sure when the name changed, but I do know the story behind the house and its spiritual inhabitants. An elderly lady (whose name totally evades me at the moment) lived in the house for a long, long time. All of the land around the house was her/her family's property, and the school desperately wanted to purchase the land in its entirety. This lady refused and the school held out until she passed away, at which they offered her kids a more than adequate amount for the modest little house. I'm not 100% certain how long its been in full use, but I know that there is AT LEAST one confirmed identity residing there, obviously the old lady. The liberal arts division of the school nests its headquarters in the upper floors of the building, and the most notoriously haunted floor is the second floor. I haven't yet found a professor with an office in there that hasn't experienced some form of strange phenomena, even among the skeptics. Most notably (if not infamously) was an incidence quite a few years ago on the staircase leading to the third floor. Two professors were engaging in *ahem* romantic relations with one another late, late after school hours. Things began getting very, very physical (clothes off and all), when the male felt what seemed to be a cold hand on his shoulder. He stopped (presumably enough of an action to get his partner's attention) and they both looked up to see a luminescent elderly woman standing above them. She seemed irritated but not angry, so they respected her wishes and fled (after clothing themselves, hopefully.)
The head of the liberal arts department has had the most intense and vivid experiences with this anomaly, as she works countless hours in that building. She once joked about the ghost following her home, and to her surprise, after that, her bathroom faucet would turn on inexplicably the same time every night, lights would flicker, cold spots were felt, ect. She eventually got fed up with it and yelled into the darkness one night "Ok, that's enough, tomorrow you're going BACK to the house, you CANNOT come home with me anymore!" It hasn't happened since, though she claims to very occasionally see the woman's face in a window when she descends one of the staircases.
